week 6/52 for my 52 week project

I had a pretty spontaneous mini photoshoot with my childhood friend, Kimberly, yesterday evening. This photoshoot has been postponed multiples times because every time I want to shoot it's either raining or I have a ton of homework to complete. She walked over to my house yesterday evening and we began taking pictures through my house's glass sliding door. (Initially I already taken a picture of her through the glass sliding door with the butterfly on her right eye, but I realized that I forgot to tell her to button her top all the way and the picture looked so casual which bothered me a lot. Call me a perfectionist but I had to retake that picture. And I'm glad I did because it turned out way better than the previous shot.) After that we walked to her house where there was this pretty bougainvillea bush in front of her house fence and I took a few shots of her posing in front of it.

week 5/52 for my 52 week project

This photoshoot was done two weeks ago with the gorgeous Naomi as well as photographers Sheryl Ng and Nicole Lim at Rimba Kiara Park at TTDI. I was honoured to be invited to shoot with Sheryl and Nicole that day. My dad and I went to Sheryl's place at 3pm to pick her up then headed to Rimba Kiara Park. It took us close to 40 minutes to arrive there and Nicole arrived about another 20 minutes later. It was really windy and soon as we expected, it started to rain. Sheryl and I waited with Nicole in her car for Naomi who was stuck in her condo because there was a crime scene outside. It was still raining when Naomi arrived so we shot under a hut until the rain subsided. We explored the park a little and decided to ditch our umbrellas and shoot whilst it was drizzling a little. When it finally stopped drizzling, it was a little foggy which was so pretty. Not to mention the park during the overcast was so beautiful and peaceful. We could finally wander around without having to worry about our cameras getting wet. This photoshoot was by far the most memorable photoshoot I've done. It was also a pleasure meeting the talented Nicole and the oh so beautiful Naomi.

This photoshoot with Ata was done in February. Sheryl and I have been eyeing our schoolmate Ata for quite sometime (sounds creepy but oh well) because of how photogenic he is. After awhile Sheryl finally asked him if he was interested in modelling for us and he agreed to. Sheryl and I have been planning to shoot with this red bird we ordered online and we decided to use it during this photoshoot. We planned to meet up at the same location was the previous shoot I did with my schoolmate, Sean along with Sheryl (you can check out my blog post on that here). The weather that day was blazing hot and we were all sweating so much. Shooting Ata was like a walk in the park because of how good he is at taking directions, not to mention he is so photogenic. This photoshoot is somewhat a mix of a conceptual-ish photoshoot and a fashion photoshoot. By 6:30 pm the sun was already setting and the light absolutely stunning that it cast beautiful lens flares in the photos.

This photoshoot was done back in January with my schoolmate, Sean and my photography buddy, Sheryl at an empty land next to a park near my housing area. Initially we wanted to do this photoshoot at an abandoned house I found in my friend's housing area but it turns out to be nicely renovated already when we arrived the place. After finding out my mum drove us straight to the park near my housing area and we decided to shoot at the empty land instead.

It's been awhile

Hello everyone ♡

I'm so sorry for being away for so long :(
I was really busy with school and my major exams over the past 5 months and I didn't have time to go on photoshoots.
But now my exams are over and I'm currently on school break so I hopefully can take lots of pictures. :)

Thank you so so so sooo much to all my Instagram followers who stuck by me
It makes me so happy knowing that you guys like my photos that much and also support what I'm doing.
I love you all so much x

I'm very glad to say that I'm officially back on Instagram and I'll be posting as frequent as possible. :)
Thank you to everyone for being so patient

Last Thursday evening

I went on a photoshoot with Sheryl (aka @_theleftside on Instagram) last Thursday after half a year of not shooting with her. This is our fourth photo shoot we've done together and shooting with her was a lot of fun. First we shot near the lake. The lighting there was a little harsh so we decided to shift shooting locations. We came across this shady tree and decided to settle there for shooting. While we were shooting we bumped into a few of our schoolmates who were there cycling, which was pretty awkward.

My photography story so far

Hello everyone!

Allow me to introduce myself a little. My name is Chelsey Law. I'm turning 15 in October and I take photos in my spare time. :)

I started off taking photos with my mum's Nikon digital camera in when I was 12 which was in the year 2010. At the end of the year, my parents got me a Canon EOS 550D as a reward for my exam results. From then I started getting more interested in photography. I then created a Facebook page a year later to share my photography with my friends and family.

A year ago I downloaded the app, Instagram. I started off as a typical Instagram account, posting pictures of stuff I'm doing, what I'm eating, and selfies. I never posted any of my photography on there (I never thought of doing so) until one day I discovered an Instagrammer with the user @littlemissnorthwest. Then I got really inspired to post my photography.

Since then I've been taking loads of photos and uploading them on Instagram. My goal then was to get 1,000 followers on there and on September 5th 2012 I reached my goal. To me that was the biggest achievement ever. Instagram wasn't actually very popular last year so it was rather tough to be noticed for your photography.

I grew so much as a photographer since then. But I'd never make it here if it wasn't for my photography teacher and my parents.

And that's my photography story so far. :) Thank you for reading and I'll be blogging again soon.

xx Chelsey
